This will be awesome to go along with my husbands Rino. So far it stays charged for a long time.
the first time I used the alkaline pack one of the metal leaf srpings broke and it didnt work after that.
I used it in the arctic with no problems. With moderate use, it will last a 2-3 days. The alkaline battery pack is a must have for the Rino if you're without power to recharge the main battery. The battery pack takes 4 AA batteries and lasts for several hours. It does add a little bulk versus the main battery, and it reduces the radio range to 2W (which made me drop one star), but an excellent insurance policy if you're miles from nowhere.
They were definitely responsive, but I had to prod. I would use them again due to their commitment to customer satisfaction. Told them it was almost a month, and I just got a request to review service. I sent GPS Cheap an e-mail - had to prod 'em some. Four weeks went by, and nothing. The product is a Garmin product - good product as usual.I received a call about 7 days after I ordered from GPS Cheap - said the item was backordered, but it would be delivered about 5 days after the intended receive date. Then I receive this request from Amazon to provide a review. I got a 3 calls the next day and an e-mail claiming they had just received the shipment that day, and it would be sent priority, and received the product 4 days later.
No need to worry about having your rechargeable pack die on you on a back-packing trip or long excursion. This is a must have for Rino 530 users that are away from power for extended periods. Just bring a pack of batteries.
